About My Travel Blog

Blogging To Inspire

So how did I get the idea to create A CURIOUS TREKKER TRAVEL BLOG?

From junior high on my desire was to become a travel agent. This because (at the time) travel agents regularly traveled to the exotic locations in order to share their first-hand experiences. Alas, by the time I graduated from college, very few agents traveled on company time. Most were chained to a desk, hawking destinations they would never personally experience.

That left me to find my own way. And my way was via Encyclopedia Britannica. As a matter of fact, my first trip through Europe was planned solely with the help of our trusty encyclopedias, and the book “Europe on $25 A Day.”  But the habit of researching stuck.

Short treks close to home may require no more than a quick internet search. But for longer treks I seek out topical books, documentaries, museum exhibits, and lectures. Oh, and don’t forget the maps!

Writing, in its many forms, has been a constant throughout my ‘day jobs’ over the years. But I particularly enjoy it when I have the opportunity to promote or inspire through my writing. However, those opportunities don’t come along often enough in my current position. For that reason I hope A CURIOUS TREKKER BLOG not only informs, but also inspires you to go out and create your own adventure.
